- Teaching Music To Children With Special Needs
Dr. Ryan Hourigan, Instructor
This workshop will focus on the following aspects of teaching music
to children with disabilities: (a) Navigating the Special Education
System (Including Special Education Law); (b) Adapting and Accommodating
Children with Special Needs; and (c) Issues associated with mainstreaming
and inclusion. Students will also receive training with actual students
who struggle with disabilities through fieldwork experiences with area
summer special education programs. Contact Dr. Hourigan for specific
enrollment information.
- Music Teaching and Content Reading: Supporting Students and
Literacy Initiatives While Maintaining the Integrity of the Music Curriculum
