I started this site because it was a requirement for my Jouranlism 100 class.  I kept it going after the class was over because a) it will reflect well on me if I can tell potential employers "for more information, check out my Web site," and b) I liked having a place where I could vent my spleen on a semi-consistent basis.  The free server space was also a factor.
This is actually the second version of my site; the first one was starting to sprawl and get out of hand, so I condensed a lot of stuff, rearranged a few things, and, above all, made the fonts consistent from page to page.  I have a bit of a problem when it comes to new word processing programs: I get so caught up in all the bells and whistles that I forget my original goals.  Now, technically speaking, Composer isn't a word processor, but for my purposes that's really all it is.  I don't want a site with lots of flashy graphics and animations; I want to focus on content, to get back to the text-based roots of the Internet.  Besides my senior picture (which I really should replace with something more recent), there is only one image in this entire site, and I defy you to find it.*
