If you would like to have a copy of the spreadsheet that I
used for checking problem 3.1, you can down load it by right clicking
and use save target as. | |

09/04/01 I edited questions 7 and 8 on Unit 1. I have also had several questions about question 11 (2.3 in the text). I have worked this problem numerous ways and cannot get the answer in the book. I have dropped this problem. You will be given full credit for these three problems. |
This is the second time that I have taught this particular course. Last fall several people taking the course had not had be for quality control and had difficulty with statistics requiring me to modify the syllabus. What does this mean to you as a student?
|
The syllabus is a work in progress and will be developed and
adjusted as I get a feel for how the course is progressing.
|
I will not have much of a historical basis for knowing areas that
students will likely find difficult. This may mean that I will cover
material to quickly and spend too much time on other material. Please
communicate concerns so that we and future students can benefit.
|
We will be using spreadsheets. I will answer questions on
Microsoft Excel. If you are using some other spreadsheet, you will have to
find support elsewhere.
|
Historically, the plastic students have done a DOE project
for their capstone courses, so this course is particularly important to
them. The course is directly applicable to CIM students as well; but, the
capstone course has a different orientation.
|
In lieu of a project for this course, we will have a
component on Project Management using Microsoft Project Manager. This
component will be geared to give students a head start on planning their
capstone course. |
