Note: The IBA Rules state that you must have a start or end receipt in Halifax. We have contact the IBA and they agree with us that Dartmouth is a sister city and that a receipt from Dartmouth in lieu of Halifax is acceptable. This will not create an issue with your certification.
You are to contact Bill Watt at the emergency number provided to you by email in the event that you are not available to finish the ride. You are also to call Bill Watt at the conclusion of your ride.
We encourage you to keep with the spirit of the ride
coast to coast ride and obtain your sand and water as part of the ride.
We will issue a number to each rider prior to the ride. This number will be the order in which you will be
leaving the staging area. Riders
who are doing the TC Quest will be released before riders doing the TC Gold.
The ride order within each class will be determined by a random
draw. Riders who express a desire to ride as a group will have only one tag in
the draw and will be assigned sequential numbers based upon that tag.
Since there are only 8 riders we will not be issuing
ride numbers but will do this informally. We have left the text for future
reference in the event that we do this ride again.
We will start releasing riders at 6:00 ADST (2:00 PDST) from the Ultramar at 10 Highland Park Drive, Dartmouth, N.S. Riders will be released a couple a time. We do not want riders riding in a pack for safety reasons. Our goal is to get all riders out by 6:15 ADST (2:15 PDST) and release the witnesses by that time. If you arrive at the staging area after 6:30 ADST (2:30 PDST), you will not be counted as part of the ride.
Have your witness form filled out and your odometer
reading recorded before requesting a witness.
When you are ready to go, advise one of the witnesses.
They will validate your odometer reading and license plate number; and add
the time and their personal information to the witness form, etc.
Once your witness form is signed. Notify the ride
coordinator and they will direct you with regard to staging for release.
When you are released from the staging area, you are
expected to immediately begin your ride. If your starting receipt is not
within a reasonable time of your release, you will not be counted as part of
the group ride.
Fill up, get your receipt and move your bike away
from the pump to make room for the riders behind you.
If you are gathering sand and water as part of the ride, you will need to do about 2.2 miles of backtracking each way.
Get onto Highway 111, heading West.
At Exit 2, keep right onto Highway 322, Victoria Road
Highway 322, Victoria Road, intersects with and changes to Windmill Road near ProCycle.
Continue on Windmill Road to the Dartmouth Yacht Club, 697 Windmill Road and collect your water.
There are many ways from here. But to keep it simple, we recommend that you simply return back to Highway 111, using the same route that you took from ProCycle to the Ultramar.
Once on Highway 111, you will go past the Ultramar (Exit 3) to Exit 4 and take Highway 118 North.

If you are not collecting water and sand as part of your ride, you will get back onto Highway 111 heading East to Exit 4 where you will take Highway 118 North.
You are off to Vancouver. Ride safe, don't push your limits, and most of all enjoy your ride.

Highway 322, Victoria Road, intersects with and changes to Windmill Road near ProCycle.
Continue on Windmill Road to the Dartmouth Yacht Club, 697 Windmill Road and collect your water.

Go right out of Dartmouth Yacht Club onto Windmill Road.
Windmill Road "Y's" to the right. You will want to take the left leg of the "Y" onto Highway 322,Victoria Road .
Travel about 0.6 miles on Highway 322, exiting on the ramp to Highway 111 East, Circumferential Highway.
At Highway 111, Exit 3 (about 0.7 miles), exit to the right.
Turn right (South) onto Highfield Park Drive to the Ultramar. (Note: Highfield Park Drive North of Highway 111 is Burnside Drive).
You can stop the panic. Your official time has been recorded on your receipt.
